a restless night

27 August 2012
At around 1 PM the rain starts again and there is some fog. We are making very slow progress across the bottom so will need to find a place to settle into before the sun goes down.

We have tucked ourselves behind Portage Island Anchorage but there is not much protection from the west wind and very few options.
The wind has built and is now blowing a steady 20 knots and wind against tide is causing a very lumpy sea, Genevieve is rolling and jerking about at anchor. It has been a very long day. The sunset however is fantastic and we have a very orange dinner made up of canned ham, yams and brown beans. We are so hungry it tastes great. There are a lot of places that we can’t get into due to our 7-foot keel. This bay is very exposed in this wind and it will make for a very restless night, neither one of us sleep.
