Shediac or bust

27 August 2012
We try to make Shediac before dark but that doesn’t happen and we end up coming into the port at night.
We contact Point du Chene and speak to Darren who bless his heart is speaking English.
The Down East Circle Route said that we couldn’t get in, max 6 feet but the Dock master Darren said its high tide you can do it. Sand bottom no damage can occur.
They say to follow the range lights but they are white and every light on the shore is white. He talks us in which takes another two hours and when I finally got the flashlight working and pointed it downward there was the green that we were looking for and we are on the wrong side of it. We hit bottom but John pushes Gen through to the other side of the green. The narrow channel entrance runs close, very close beside the breakwater and it is all rocks, very scary at night. We end up in the berth at 11:00 PM. We are exhausted but give Darren a beer and
hugs and sign into the best yacht club ever.
