Pointe-Du-Chene

27 August 2012
August 23rd

First night that we have slept in two days we are secure at the dock. It is wonderful.
They are the friendliest people we have ever met. They immediately treated us like family offering cars and anything else that they could do for us. My faith in people has been restored.

August 24th

We tour Shediac by bike what a wonderful place. It reminds us of Toronto Island.
Small town not to far from Moncton where people come to vacation. The water is warm and nice for sailing. The weather is perfect. We go to Captain Dan’s for the best seafood chowder that we have had on the East Coast so far. We decide to settle in and meet more members and it just keeps getting better.

August 25th

Great facilities, free laundry, the managers Walter or Darren have coffee going every morning, the club is clean what more can we ask for. Some folks are suggesting that this might be the best place for us to leave the boat this winter. Inexpensive secure storage and easy access to transportation, Moncton is only a 20 minute driving away.

Off to town and experience one bad plate of over breaded clams and scallops but walk the street and hear a live band that is great. John is thrilled musicians oh ya!

We return to the club talk about our travel plans with members on the deck where everyone has a drink from their boat (no bar) and lots of laughs and fun. BBQ with the members and everybody shares jokes and food.
