Adirondacks
19 September 2012
Taking the Ferry across Lake Champlain we spend the night in a small hotel called Ethan Allen. Next door, Moira has the best steak of her life in the Rotisserie Restaurant in Burlington Vermont. I inhale a huge serving of fabulous meatloaf and it reminds me of a home cooked meal.

The Adirondacks
Our drive now on highway #2 through the Adirondacks is magical, beautiful winding road and the trees are just starting to show their fall colors. The road takes us through New Hampshire past Montpelier and on to Bangor Maine. We spend the night in Jonesboro Maine, as there are no hotels or motels or B&B’s available in Bangor. They are all booked and if available run at about $185 plus, per night. After discovering that there is literally “no room at the inn” we are forced to carry on through the fog on a winding costal road till we find one. After a one-hour uneventful drive we stumbled upon the Blueberry Patch motel, it is wonderful, $63.19 per night. It has just been renovated and is very clean with great owners. It is a welcomed rest.
