Boot Key Harbor

12 December 2011 | Marathon, Florida
Breena Lea/ North winds 15-20 knots
We are in Boot Key Harbor. It took us about 20 days to get here from Panama City, a lot less time than last season when it took us 3 months just to get out of Florida. Boot Key is awesome. The boating community is the best we have ever encountered. There are hundreds of mooring balls here and even though we are here in the off-season it is packed.

The other day we attended a Bahamas Bound meeting and met two possible boats that we may cross with. We also realized that crossing from Marathon may not be ideal due to the short weather windows so the plan is to work our way up on Thursday to Angelfish Creek and then cross from there. The crossing would only be 53 miles making it easier to find a weather window. For now we are stocking up on supplies and Breena is kicking some ass at Catan!!!
