Day 16 Update - sailing westward on the Pacific Ocean

On solo watch early this morning, I watched a great faint pink sky at first light, followed by a beautiful sunrise directly behind
Lover Of The Light as we sail on westward in the Pacific Ocean. Except for the emergency response a few nights ago when we turned
on our motor for a few hours to increase our speed, we have been sailing pretty much continuously for 14 days. We have had medium
sized rolling swell moving through from behind us, but the swell is on a long interval and not really an issue for us. "Holly",
our Hydrovane steering sytem, generally steers up and down the swells as they roll through. We learn time and again that the key
to the Hydrovane self steering the boat is having our sails balanced well.

Today we have been sailing on port tack with our spinnaker flying on the leeward side, our poled out genoa sail to windward, and
our main has a full reef in it so as to stabilize the boat from rolling while not blanketing the spinnaker. This sail
configuration is a really smooth way to sail downwind in these conditions.

As I write this, we are sailing directly into the sunset, and life onboard is good. :)

Distance sailed: 2,281 miles
To Hiva Oa: 936 miles
