Sailing South
05 May 2011 | South Pacific
Allen
Another journey to the South Pacific. We left Majuro on the 1st of May, bound for Fiji. The first four days were hell, very rough, lots of squalls with high winds confused seas and driving rain. Oh ya the entire crew was sea sick. We are now down in the Southern Hemisphere again, and the conditions are much improved. The winds are a little on the light side, but after getting our back sides handed to us, we'll take light. We should make Fiji on, or around the 13th, we hope. If the SE trades fill in, and we have to beat into some heavy stuff we will go to Vanuatu instead. As it is now all seems good for making Fiji. we all look forward to different things in Fiji. Wyatt wants to cook marsh mellows on the BBQ at Musket Cove, and swim in the resort pool. Morgan wants to ride his bike and get ice cream at the little store there. Kathy wants to eat out at the restaurant in Nandi that we ate at on our Birthdays last year. We both look forward to running on some good trails, especially after being confined to a coral atoll for the last 5 months. So with any luck we will make Fiji, and have our dreams come true. _/)
