Almost
So we are so close and yet so far. We are probably three days away from making landfall in Nuku-Hiva. The last time we blogged we were about 350 miles and heading south, but then we had to tack east so that we could charge the batteries and make water. Making water usually lasts 12 hours and during that time the wind and seas picked up so much that we kept easting for a couple of extra days. Very uncomfortable, but it just didn't make sense to tack during choppy seas.
So now we are back heading south with 15 kt wind and flatter seas. Nothing to do but eat, sleep and stay on watch. Actually, there is always something to do, but we are conserving energy. If it doesn't need to be fixed, it can wait. Hopefully the next two to three days hold with weather such as today.
And Hopefully the next time we blog, we are anchored in a nice protected bay. Where we can sleep for two days straight...
