The Voyages of s/v Lucky Bird

Some three years ago we, Alice me and Lucky Bird, launched our sailing journey from the Great Lakes to the Caribbean and back, now it's time for us to head out once again. This time we've set our sights slightly less ambitiously choosing to explore the largest of the Great Lakes, Lake Superior. I'll try my best to keep this conversation interesting and will promise to avoid interjecting any political commentary although as many know I thoroughly enjoy talking about America and her politics.

It seemed deja vue, leaving Chicago early in the day heading north up Lake Michigan with no wind and a lake looking like your backyard pond on a hot summers day. July 9th 2009 was the first start and now on July 6th 2012 we start again.

South to the Western Caribbean

This is our second journey south to the Caribbean. This time we've chosen to exit Lake Michigan and proceed south through the in-land waterway system to Mobile. We'll start around Labor Day and take our time exploring the history of middle America.
