Day 8.
A slow, lovely walk to Viana.
Tempted to go on to Logrono but fell in love with this vivacious village on a hill.
Found a Pilgrim store and enjoyed fresh hummus and veggies and the company of other pilgrims looking to just relax... more South Africans too!! Gerry and Yvonne from Durban!
Sheryl organized a room for Linda and I at Carlo's place: a renovated 17th century home of his family with wine cellar, magnificent old doors and floors, thick walls and delightful views... felt so, so blest!
There was a wedding taking place and the village was alive with beautifully dressed young and old. Carlo told us we could go into the old church to watch so we did only to be escorted out by security very quickly!!! Hahaha...
I went to a "Jesus Mediation" at 3 and met some more amazing people including Jeanette, a reflexologist who worked miracles on my feet!
The evening was wine and tapas and a cool gentle breeze before bed, feeling thoroughly refreshed and ready for another long trek tomorrow.
Definitely would love to come back here one day.
