A fall!
03 October 2018 | Rabanal del Camino, Spain
Maggie
For about half a mile outside the town of Rabanal del Camino (my resting spot for tonight) is a fence covered in crosses created and placed there by pilgrims who have gone ahead of me!!
I was entranced
goosebumpy
not paying attention to the rocky path I was treading on.
I fell
at the foot of a cross
completely prostrate before a cross for the first time in my life!
Of course I was thankful that no one was there to witness my clumsy moment
But then I was filled with awe as I thought of the symbolism of the moment since tomorrow I will reach Cruz de Ferro,
the place where I and my fellow pilgrims will lay down the burdens and regrets of our lives as symbolized by the rocks we have carried since the start of our pilgrimage.
PS I'm fine!
A few scratches but no more 😊
Thank You Lord!
