Retreating!
01 February 2019 | Manutuke Eco Retreat, Gisborne, NZ
Maggie
Our five hour drive from Lake Taupo to Gisborne (pronounced Giz-bin) took us by some of the most beautiful farmland yet, as well as a windy trip along a gorgeous river in the spectacular Waioeka Gorge.
It always pays to get onto the road less traveled!
This is our home for the weekend, an eco retreat in a wetland on the outskirts of Gisborne inspired by owner, Richard's travels to the Okavango Delta in Botswana some years ago.
We're completely off the grid again, a YETI with a frozen bottle of water in it serving as our fridge for the next three days.
The lake is filled with birds and ducks and swans...
We have binoculars and SUP's...
We're going to love this spot!
Fresh NZ green lipped mussels are on the menu for dinner tonight...
a yummy start to our retreat!
