On the move...

Nev has North Island fever...
so we're on the move!!
After a rugby game at Eden Park on Saturday night that we throughly enjoyed, our bags are sorted and packed, some of them in storage at the Auckland airport, the rest with us as we head down to Stewart Island for 5 days.
I had a hard time finding us direct flights and now I know why!
Our first flight took us to Christchurch on the South Island.
The next flight took us to Invercargill on the southern tip of South Island.
Our third flight was in a 10 seater with a single pilot!
I was lucky enough to sit up front with him as we bobbed across the 30km wide Foveaux Strait, the wind howling around us and me praying like crazy that we'd make it to the other side!!
There was a single landing strip and no tower, just a van and trailer waiting to load us and our luggage and shuttle us into Oban, the only settlement on the island!
Our pilot did an excellent job landing us and I am so so so excited to be here...
this has been on my bucket list for a long while!
