This morning we went to the Flea Market in La Lagunilla in the hopes of finding lovely treasures to bring home, limited, of course, to the size of our luggage!!
Very quickly we renamed the market "the un mil" market because most everything seemed to be priced at a thousand pesos (un mil) or more!!!
Nevertheless we left two hours later with our arms full and tickled pink with our finds:
an old fire bellow with intricate silver detail
an ancient looking wooden tray
six beautifully carved wooden hearts
and an old silver fishing spoon
to name a few!
Oh! how I wished for a bigger suitcase!!!
The remainder of the day was spent walking through the beautiful and green neighborhoods of Roma and Condesa, stopping for a cocktail at random little cafes along the way and enjoying the families enjoying their Sunday in Chapultepec Park.
I laughed as we headed home, my bag filled with monkeys for the kids and mezcal for my honey!!!
That could be hard to explain in a bag search...
you had to be there!
