Rained out!

Our friend Robynne reckons that there are only two things we have no control over: our death and the weather!
We drove to beautiful Akaroa today, a small town on the peninsula of Christchurch, looking forward to some good hiking and hoping to spot the Hector dolphins native to this area.
The drive was stunningly beautiful as we wound up and over mountains and by lakes and bays...
We were lucky enough to have time to explore the cute town and itโs shops, gas up, provision with water and find a campsite before the heavens opened...
and the rain came pouring down!
JURNEE is such a comfy place to be holed up, so we played a game of Hand and Foot (I killed Nev!), I made a yummy soup of the fish and crayfish Nev caught and left-over smoked salmon, and we had some happy chats with our neighbors during a brief break in the rain.
Turns out we had a great day all the same...
and Nev was not complaining about the lack of a good walk!!
Hahahaha ๐
