The Fishwife's Hut is complete!
During this COVID-19 time of uncertainty we have been building:
a casita just below the main house of Casa Azul, adding another bedroom, bathroom and small sitting space, complete with fridge and kettle for early morning coffee and late night liquers!
The window of this new space is the eye-catcher because the view is stunning and the sounds of the waves gently breaking on the rocks below floating in are soothing to the soul.
I've decorated it in neutral colors so as not to distract from the beauty about
and today mum arrived and has the loveliness of being our first guest!
She's here for a month and is thrilled to be closer to the beach for her early morning forays down at the waters edge in search of seaglass.
The hope is that I will sit in this casita long enough for some amazing words to gather in my head and spill out onto the pages of a book; at least that's what Nev dreams for me...
in truth it will, hopefully, be where my mum settles in long-term in the months ahead as she, at 88, becomes more frail and dependent.
From the window we will be able to see the fishing boats and their men and ours go by creating stories of their own,
while we live and write ours.
