A planet of it’s own!

We said our goodbyes to Kasane after fueling up and reprovisioning for the next leg of our self driving safari...
our destination:
Planet Baobab,
a three and a half hour drive south on tarred roads though attention was needed for the potholes that had to be averted and the donkeys, cows and goats along the roadside...
we also had to stop as a herd of elephant crossed the road, trampling their way right over the fence of a farm!
We weren't sure what to expect of Planet Baobab and we were most pleasantly surprised!
The campground is surrounded by 17 enormous baobab trees which are lit up at night, creating a wonderful sense of being on another planet!
Each campsite has it's own thatched shady area which we really appreciated after a refreshing swim in the pool provided for us residents to cool down in.
We enjoyed our neighbors from Hoedspruit, ( coincidentally, three weeks earlier they were in exactly the same campsite as we were in Khwai and he was bitten on the arm by that same hyena who ate up Nev's sandals!!! He had the scars to prove it!!), and met a family from Cape Town who generously shared their gold medal winning gin that they are distilling and selling:
Unit43...
grab a bottle if you can...
it's delicious!
We slept well beneath these beautiful old trees and the starladen sky above us as the temperature cooled with the setting sun.
