A fairytale ending 🤍

19 October 2021 | The Chobe River, Namibia side!
Maggie
Mieles surprised us hugely and lavishly today, setting us up for a fairytale ending to this journey by transferring us to one of their riverboats, the Chobe Princess One, and giving us the penthouse suite on the rooftop!
We were simply agape and tickled pink 💗
I've never been on a houseboat so this was a total treat and a magical way to experience the river as we slowly meandered down the waterways, traveling a total of 35kms before docking for the night.
While Nev went fishing with his guide, Orbit, I hung out in the refreshingly cold jacuzzi tub on the front deck with a deliciously cold GnT, enjoying both my book and the companionship of our fellow guests, 3 couples from interesting places with lovely travel stories to tell.
We were lucky enough to experience a tremendous storm with lightening and thunder and buckets of rain which Nev and Orbit got caught in on their way back from fishing;
Nev got his tiger fish, albeit a very small one;
he wants to tell that tale in his own words so look out for that post coming soon!
And then it was time for showers and cocktails and dinner which was served family style and in style by our chef, Jane, and our host, Robert.
Wine, conversation and laughter flowed freely,
such fun company,
such a fun grande finale!
You went above and beyond Mieles,
I felt like a princess!
Thank you, thank you, thank you
and good night!
