Diet and discipline!

As I literally wash the African sand from my shoes this morning, my soul is downcast as we wake up safely at home in Oxnard this morning, both of us somewhat disoriented as we unpack and settle into the grey, chilly day.
They say it takes 21 days to form a new habit.
We were in Botswana for 21 days and I smile at the habits that must now be broken:
5:30am wake up calls with a tray of hot coffee, hot milk and rusks
6:00am game drives to discover whatever the land has to offer us
11:30am brunch accompanied by a glass of chilled white wine or a GnT
Afternoon siestas spent reading, napping, playing cards, swimming, sweltering
4pm High Tea with scones, jam and cream and triangle sandwiches with the crusts cut off
4:30pm game drives to explore again, ending with GnTs while we watch the red African sun slip away over the thorn trees
Dinners which were always yummy whether we were at a lodge or simply enjoying Provitas and cheese
An evening fire while listening to the sounds of the wild!
Yes, it's going to be an adjustment as diet and discipline are the order of the day now, this photo depicting how Nev and I feel after an amazingly indulgent holiday in every sense of the word
physical
emotional
spiritual!
Hahahaha!!
Yet the anticipation of seeing our kiddies and theirs
and our family and friends
replaces the sadness quickly.
Thank YOU Lord ♥️
