Not much happens here on weekends so we played part time tourists. We caught a tuk-tuk (a small three wheeled vehicle) to town and ultimately to the city pier where we hired a water taxi to go to the Castillo de San Felipe built in 1595 to fight pirates. Also called a fort,it had cannons and a prison along with a moat and drawbridge. The water taxi then brought us back to the marina. We are surrounded by multi thousand dollar yachts and in the middle is a hand carved dugout canoe from a mahogany tree, new and old side by side. Just missing a storm, it rained by the buckets as soon as we got back. More to come soon. Experimenting with pictures. On Monday canvas Nd Navionics work begin in earnest

Luna Sea's Photos - Main
The Panama Canal was a HUGE CHALLENGE and wonderful experience!!! Mighty swirling waters challenged the entire crew - line handlers earned blisters & sore muscles. Resting in Las Playitas Marina, then venturing into the Pacific Ocean - south to overnight anchorage at Contadora, porpoises on the way, overnight at Jicarita Lagoon and finally overnight to Golfo (sunrise helm picture with Thomas).
