Governor's Harbour
07 March 2007
We left Rock Sound early this morning to 25-knot winds and 3-4' wind chop. Sailing today was not an option. We changed our course to stay close to shore to find protection from the seas breaking over our bow. The winds finally moderated to 15-20-knots later in the afternoon. Had we known the conditions would be this extreme we would have waited another day. When we arrived to Governor's Harbour a dolphin playing and jumping at our bow welcomed us.
Governor's Harbour is notorious for having poor holding. We attempted to find a suitable place to anchor for an hour. We finally found a safe anchorage just North of town. We are getting critically low on water. We have not showered in days and we are using foam cups and plates to reduce our water consumption. We will continue to wait to fill our tanks.
