Our first manta ray...

21 July 2002 | Cape Wessel, North coastof Australia
The water was idyllic, the temperature hot, we all wanted a swim and we seriously contemplated it. But the warnings of the large 'salties' (seawater crocodiles) prevailed. Heading back to the yacht we saw a large one meandering across the bay. I was too slow with the camera for a photo however soon after we had this, our first encounter with a manta ray. It came back to us several times before getting bored with us. If we hadn't seen the large crocodile we would have been temped to get in and swim with the manta.

The Cod Hole

06 July 2002 | The Great Barrier Reef, Australia
Due to the high winds we had a hard time getting out to the barrier reef and spending the time we had hope for diving it. However, we had one opportunity and Dan & Liz joined us and we went out form Lizard Island and had a good dive on the reef. The Cod Hole is a place where the dive tours go and they seem to have tamed the cod. Giant cod come right up to you expecting to be fed. It was a great experience. Dan was the keen one who got up our main mast for this photo.

Great sailing...

06 July 2002 | Cape Melville, Inside the Barrier Reef, Australia
With the strong south east trade winds and flat seas there was no stopping us..

About: After traveling the world for the past 7 years, we have reluctantly decided to sell LONG WHITE CLOUD. She is a competitive racer in Classic Regattas, (read more about our recent win's), she is a comfortable cruising boat and attracts favourable comments everywhere we sail her.
'Having carefully inspected the vessel and her equipment, it is the opinion of this surveyor that this vessel, built to a proven design, with the best quality materials and to the highest standards is a fine example of the boat builders art. The vessel has been extensively sailed while maintained [...]

LONG WHITE CLOUD wins again! First in the Classic 'D' class. More impressively, we also won the 'Ashanti of Saba' cup for the best corrected time over all Classic Divisions.
