Bottom work continues
20 November 2015
It was suppose to be a 10 day project. I should remember where in the world I am! Mexican time travels at a different pace than the rest of the world. The workers are similar to those everywhere as well. They do work hard when the task is at hand or when the boss is around but do manage a few breaks here and there. As mentioned, Solastra was hauled on the 5th, it is now the 20th. That means that the 10 working days was passed 2 days ago and we are just starting to see paint going on. The boot stripe is being raised and redone as well. The boss, Rick is estimating a launch either Tuesday or Thursday!!! Lynn and Lulu arrive Friday! Not nearly enough time to get the grime from the yard off! I had hoped for at least a week. Now I must work on the interior with the boat completely closed up in order to get that done. I did not mention that I arrived on October 31 and started a galley clean that took 30 hours to almost complete! Oh well, I am getting used to the heat and humidity!
