Join us for a trip from New York to Tasmania, and back, we hope. Departing Saturday.

Just Another Beach Day

We decided not to sail anywhere today, just spend another day at the beach on vacation from our sailing vacation. We paddled kayaks to the next bay over and landed on the even smaller beach there, went snorkeling, swamped our kayaks trying to get them past the beach wash before the small breakers, had a lovely dinner on board and watched the South Pacific sunset in unfamiliar colors I cannot quite describe. More subtle, less orange. Dare I say hints of purple and fascia?

There are about a dozen sailboats in this bay now, and we have seen at least half of them before, including our friends Jim and Paula on Freydis, the Kiwi on No Fixed Address, and Arnum and Maria on Marnia2, who seem to have forgotten that we first crossed paths halfway between Panama and the Galapagos.

Tomorrow we will start moving west again, and sail for the island of Ua Pou, about sixty five miles from here.
