Robalo for Dinner

The neighbours are gathering! Casey bought a big robalo (snook) from one of his workers, he and Linda invited their friends and, last Saturday, we all sat down to a delicious potluck dinner in their lovely screened dining room.
Linda and Casey baked the fish and cooked a pot of rice, Jim and I brought our usual broccoli salad, Jennifer contributed her oft requested apple crisp, and Martin and Karen (just back from England to their lovely house in Buenavista Bay) brought a golden treacle pud with crema fresca. It was a 2 dessert dinner that brought smiles all around the table.
The conversation was lively, the food was delicious, and the friendship warm as we seasonal folks joined the year round folks and caught up on the news of the neighbourhood.
We’ve had a couple of good meals at Burnt Key Marina too – where Mavis seems to be in charge of the kitchen this year. The spinach ravioli is still yummy, the resident drinkers are still entertaining (mostly) and the wifi occasionally works!
(The crowd sure wasn’t looking at the camera in this pic (maybe at our new paddle on the wall) and the pictures where they were looking are even blurrier. Sorry!)
