Blow Coming;Time to Move
16 February 2015 | Placencia Lagoon, Belize
Beth / 28 and heavy air
There is a big cold front coming - getting here Wed and lasting through Saturday. We are a little tired of the Lagoon so even though it would be fine protection we are headed north to another lagoon. Our spot out in the boonies is fairly quiet this morning but when we came around front, the main anchorage is really rocking! It will clear out over the next few days.
We decided to try to make do with passing the anchor chain from one side of the bowsprit across to the windlass on the other side and see how it works for a while. We'd rather wait to fix it until we get back to Casey's excellent shop in Rio Dulce, but we'll see how it goes.
We hear there is SO much snow up north and that the roof collapsed on the Halifax Curling Club right across the street from our house. So we are thinking of you all and hoping you are safe and warm. While we are very happy to be here, we are certainly concerned about family and friends in the midst of winter. Sending love your way.
