Nassau Here we come!

13 February 2016 | Atlantis Resort
Left from Highbourne with an early start to make sure we missed the front coming in later in the afternoon. This was an entire motorsail but the weather cooperated and we made the trip in good time. As we came into cell range Heather called her folks to give them an update. This is when we found out that Alex and Alison and the kids were in Nassau for their last day in the Bahamas. They were staying at the Atlantis Resort for the night then flying out the next day. We got in contact with them and decided to celebrate 2 months of showering from a bag on deck with the ultimate luxury marina and resort with a water park!! It was all included in the marina fee which seemed steep at 4.50 USD/foot but when you figured in the cost of the resort passes and everything else it was a steal. The boys had a blast and we really enjoyed hooking up with Al and Al!! They hadn't told the kids we were coming so Elizabeth and George were very surprised to see us come around the pool!

The water park is amazing and really was more than anything the boys had ever dreamed of. The lazy river was dubbed the Crazy river as it was a hell of a ride with all of us flipping off of our tubes at some point.

After a great day at the park the Ostrops came over for happy hour on the boat then we went to dinner at one of the resort restauants. Then another dip in the pool before bed.

What a day. And to think we were going to go to a quiet anchorage for the night. Bud had too much fun and kept falling asleep at the pool after supper.

I managed to sweet talk our way into a few extra hours on the next day in order to enjoy the water park and say good by to the Ostrops before they flew back to Canada.

After a few more hours at the water park we then left and headed to the anchorage where we will wait out the blow before we can go to Browns and get hauled to repair the shaft.
