It finally stopped raining and we're ready to stretch our legs a little bit. In the past, it took a couple of minutes to put shoes and jacket on and we were on our way around the block. Now it's a a multi-step process:

Step 1: Crew goes to the foredeck, takes fenders out of dinghy, dries dinghy.
Step 2: Crew launches the dinghy.
Step 3: Crew lets boarding ladder down, crew 1 goes into dinghy and brings it to the stern of the boat.
Step 4: Crew 2 lowers the gas tank and motor which crew 1 attaches to the dinghy.
Step 5: Crew 2 joins crew 1 in the dinghy.
Step 6: Crew looks for suitable place ashore where to land and tie up the dinghy.

Then we're finally ready to enjoy our walk - assuming that in the meantime the weather gods have not changed their mind and sent more rain our way.
Today it stayed dry and we took a stroll through Frankfurt, Michigan and enjoyed the little gems along the way. It was definitely worth the hassle ! :)



Es hat endlich aufgehört zu regnen, und wir wollen uns ein bisschen die Beine vertreten. Früher brauchten wir nur ein paar Minuten, um Schuhe und Jacke anzuziehen, und schon waren wir unterwegs. Jetzt ist es eine ganz schöne Prozedur!

Schritt 1: Besatzung geht auf das Vordeck, nimmt Fender aus dem Beiboot, trocknet Beiboot ab.
Schritt 2: Besatzung lässt Beiboot zu Wasser.
Schritt 3: Besatzung lässt Einstiegsleiter herunter, Besatzung 1 steigt ins Beiboot und bringt es zum Heck des Bootes.
Schritt 4: Besatzung 2 lässt Benzintank und Motor hinunter, den Besatzung 1 am Beiboot anbringt.
Schritt 5: Besatzung 2 steigt zu Besatzung 1 in das Beiboot.
Schritt 6: Beide Besatzungsmitglieder suchen einen geeigneten Platz an Land, an dem sie das Beiboot festmachen und trockenen Fusses an Land gehen können.

Dann sind wir soweit unseren Spaziergang zu genießen - vorausgesetzt, der Wettergott hat es sich in der Zwischenzeit nicht anders überlegt und schickt uns erneut Regen.
Heute blieb es trocken, und wir machten einen Spaziergang durch die Frankfurt, Michigan und erfreuten uns an den kleinen Juwelen am Wegesrand. Es war die Mühe auf jeden Fall wert :)
