And this is exactly how we experience the North Channel. We have been here before with our trailerable MacGregor 26 M when we spent two weeks mainly in the Whalesback and McBean Channels. This time we looked for spots we had not been able to explore back then, like Gore Bay, Heywood Island and Covered Portage Cove. The latter encompasses everything Majorie Cahn Brazer talks about. It is simply breathtaking - crystal clear water, high bluffs, the song of the loon and the wonderful scent of pine trees. It is so easy to get lost in this beauty, to drown in the solitude of this place. We hope you have a chance to enjoy this gem some day yourself!
