Sailing!

We've been in back in the water almost two weeks. The first week was spent organizing the boat, moving and adjusting from a terra firma based lifestyle back to a water based lifestyle. There are many major differences between the two with shopping being one of the major ones. We can't just simply jump in the car to grab a few groceries or a quart of Ben & Jerry's late at night. Shopping or provisioning as its called on a boat often takes the better part of the day. We did get to do some sailing the last week with this past Sunday afternoon enjoying the 15-24knots of wind under clear skies. We also went out last Fri afternoon with a couple from Mass who had a nice sail followed by a lobster and steak dinner. It was their first time on a large sail boat and they both enjoyed the experience. Its fun to introduce new sailors to our lifestyle.
Its been hot here the last few days and we spent each afternoon at the local lake cooling off. The ocean water needs another week or so before I jumnp in, allthought its warmed up from 58F to 68F in the last week so hopefully it will continue the trend so we can jump off the top deck of Makana. That's it for now,the above photo was taken on our trip from Southwest Harbor to Camden.
