We were on the move for most of October. An overnight trip with my father from Atlantic Highlands NJ had us arriving on Sat. afternoon dropping the hook in Annapolis. The following day we went to explore the boat show and were pleasently overwhelemed with the amout of boats and "stufff" compressed into the harbor area. On Monday morning we motored south to put Makana on dock in Solomons for the month as our insurance won't let us venture past Norfolk VA until the 1st of Nov. due to hurricanes. Katie and Hoku were off on a plane flight to visit her parents in Wisconsin and I stayed aboard to do some boat projects with a plan on meeting Katie and Hoku in Orlando in a week to spend two weeks camping at Disney. So after the boat projects were done, truthfully boat projects are never done, I set off to spend a few days cycling in the Smokey Mts. before heading to Florida. The Smokies were quite a treat, the trees were in full color and the sunny warm days made for some great riding with the highlight being the ride up Mt. Mitchell the highest point east of the rockies. The above picture was take where I spent a night "camping" in our truck.
