Rick
The past two weeks we’ve been on the move. After repairing the port engine we departed Lantana and motored south to anchor in Lake Sylvia, Ft. Lauderdale. There we were entertained by a group of people on a small motorboat with a water toy which we have never seen. Basically a small surf board has a high volume water pump which is attached to a jet pack that the user wears on their back. Once the unit is activated the user can “fly” around with the jets shooting out water with the “surf board” in tow.
We departed on Sat the 17th from Lake Sylvia pulling up our anchor at 2:30 am and headed across the Gulf Stream. We motored-motored sailed the entire way along with Cookie Monster, Tortuga and April First arriving in Nassau at 8am on the 18th just as the wind was picking up from the approaching cold front. We took a slip at Nassau Yacht Haven, checked in with customs and immigration followed by well deserved naps for all. When we woke from our rest the wind was blowing a solid 20 knots gusting to 25 and squalls were on the horizon.
The next day Hoku and I were off to visit our friends on Morning Glory, which was docked across the sound at Atlantis. Hoku and I along with Morning Glory’s crew spent the day enjoying the amazing water park at Atlantis while Katie and our friends on Cookie Monster went to find Bahamian cell phones. We hope to head over to the Exumas as soon as the weather settles down.
