Malua left France in August 2012 after spending more than six years cruising. It was a great time but the time had come when we had seen most of the countries, the authorities were starting to tax yachts because the country had run out of money and wanted to get it from the rich yotties.
I prepared Malua sailed south through the Straits of Gibraltar and then to Portugal and on to Madeira. From there to Morocco and the Canaries. The Atlantic crossing was easy with not much wind or waves. We did it in 20 days an average speed. From Barbados I sailed north through the island chain of the West Indies to Cuba where I spent a month. From there a challenging sail to Florida and then north to the Chesapeake and on to New York and Long Island Sound to make a turn at Rhode Island.
Malua is now on the hard in Deltaville.
In January Malua will cruise south to the Bahamas and Cuba before Jamaica and the Panama Canal. I will stop in the Galapagos on my way west reaching Australia in July/August.
