Safely in Mazatlan
27 November 2016 | Marina Mazatlan
Sorry for the delay in posting. Internet is sketchy at best, so we'll update you as we can.
Arrived in Mazatlan safely on Thanksgiving night, after a relatively easy 500 mile drive (yes, that's a contradiction in terms, I know). Less traffic and construction than on the first leg to San Carlos; we passed through lots of pretty agricultural areas and small towns. Dined on fresh fish tacos and watched the second half of the Steelers game that evening, so it was almost like celebrating Thanksgiving at home...or not.
The boat is in fine shape, just as we left it. We spent Friday unpacking and trying to settle in. The weather is perfect, mid 80s during the day and mid 60s at night, sunny and breezy. The marina is still relatively quiet - not sure when folks will show up to inhabit their floating homes.
John's been working on boat projects and I've been pounding on the keyboard - almost like at home, only different. We're hoping to reconnect with friends we met in May in the next few days.
We've been able to watch a little Gonzaga basketball and NFL football games, John's done a little ocean swimming, found good food and beverages in local restaurants, and are slowly getting into a new routine.
As for our future plans, ask us later. We're still formulating those!
Hope you had a great Thanksgiving weekend, found a few deals on Black Friday, shopped locally on Small Business Saturday, and have a list for Cyber Monday. We hung blue twinkly lights on the boat last night, so we're starting to decorate for the holidays...
