BECALMED

Shearwater and I find ourselves in the vastness of the ocean with virtually no wind. Long pacific rollers punctuated by a very short chop roll endlessly toward us. We are motoring ever so slowly at 1500 revs....which translates into a speed of 4-5 knots/hour. I alternate the engines about every 4 hours and never have both going - again to save fuel. While this is slow, its not agonizing our here....time IS slow and the structure of hourly expectations so prevalent to land life....seem to disappear here.
Night is coming, the tanker traffic has lightened, I expect a quiet and restful night.
Good night.
