Within this lagoon, encircled by a fringing reef is utter calm. Yet, just a few hundred yards away, I am reminded of the true state of affairs out there....crashing waves can be seen all day and all night...fascinating contrast.
Speaking of all day, I have tried and tried today to upload a video entitled "A Typical 24 Hours on Shearwater" filmed last month in which I take you through a typical day aboard. Sad to say, no luck with the weak internet here....so tomorrow I will go to the airport where reportedly there is a cafe. Bastille Day today so nothing open.
I am planning to leave this weekend on the next big leg almost 1000 miles to 1600 miles depending on whether I stop in Tonga on the way to Fiji or go directly to Fiji. The boat is basically ready but for a few minorish issues..running lights, dinghy leaks, propane fill, diesel fill and redoing the bungees on the shrouds. And then off we go on the next wild ride.
