After many weeks of watching the weather, there is a consensus building that this might be a good time to begin the 1500 mile journey to S Africa. There seems to be enough wind, no nasty lows blowing in from the west, and ....well,... we have to get it over-with - this temperamental and potentially dangerous leg.
So tomorrow in the morning I will get my 'clearance' papers and be off. I am looking at a 7 day forecast, but it's only the first three days that have any reliability. And those speak of light winds but 'freshening'.
Shearwater is ready, strengthened, full of fuel, and provisioned. And as for me....well Im apprehensive but ready
