DODGED THE FIRST BULLET
09 November 2011 | Between Reunion and the tip of Madagascar
Im now only about 150 miles(one day) from the point south of the tip of Madagascar where I turn west for the South African Coast.
Todays weather is sunny with a nice 10 knot following breeze. Forecasts call for 15 knots tomorrow from the NE - thats good-this is the crucial area, south of Madagascar, where one must not meet a SWester - no place to hide. Friday calls for almost no wind - not so good, as it increases my exposure by a day for the even-more unpredictable weather between here and the S African coast. And then the winds pick up on Saturday.
While there are a bullets left in the chamber, as of today, we have dodged the first.
