SEARCHING FOR THE AGULHAS CURRENT
06 January 2012 | Between Richards Bay and Durban

At about 1130 we threw our lines off and were away from Richards Bay. We headed directly out from land headed for the 200 meter line...the depth of 200 meters... as that is reportedly where the Agulhas current lurks at its strongest. But this snaking river down the coast remains elusive and as of now we have not found it. It is a lovely day with light winds from the SE. I hesitate to even hint that perhaps it is too light for this is one place in the world where one should be thankful for a peaceful sea.
However that being said, I hope tomorrow finds us aboard the famous Agulhus Current.
