THE LAST LEG
07 April 2012 | On the way to the Caribbean
david
We begin the last, long, uninterrupted leg today, with over 3000 miles ahead to landfall at Martinique in the Caribbean.
Shearwater and I have resumed our bachelor status and have left Ascension, once again, alone.
We are experiencing the roughest weather of the South Atlantic so far, with a brisk wind of more than 20 knots and waves large enough to have twice pooped us.
Nothing terrible but it reminds one...never let ones guard down! That having been said, this stronger wind is allowing us to put miles under our keels before the doldrums in about 800 miles.
