And I'm nervous once again. Tonight or early tomorrow morning, Shearwater and me will once again deal with yet another line in the water - this time its the Equator! The last time I crossed this line was between Panama and the Galapagos, April 20 2010 at 1101 pm going SOUTH. Now, almost exactly two years later, I will cross it going NORTH, and, the point at which I cross it, will be about 3400 miles east of where I crossed it the first time... now that we are all thoroughly confused...

We all know that I have had some godly issues with these infernal lines in the past and so accordingly I am now reviewing what happened almost two years ago. Lamentably, my log notes are scant on the subject: they do identify the god in question - Neptune; they do indicate that he paid a visit to the boat; but, and here's the point - they do not indicate what on earth I offered him, what libation? I think, whatever it was, it was a success but...what was it? Was it my best whiskey, or was it champagne? But somehow, wine seems most appropriate...I do have some black market Rum from Cuba! Here we go again...00 directly ahead!
