25 April 2012 | On the way to the Caribbean
Its now 430 pm and we have experienced today, so far, no less than 5 squalls bringing huge amounts of rain with the wind going from a knot or two to 20 in a dizzying small amount of time and then... back again. Its direction cant be assured for more than an hour or so, swinging 180 degrees without warning. The many resulting sail changes, or more to the point, the many hoistings and dousings leave one a little worn out. For instance, since the beginning of this small writing we have gone from no wind, no rain, to 20 knots, huge downpour and now, yes, its on its way back to none. Each squall leaves confused and quite big seas causing the boats rigging to shake violently.
In days of old, one could have been forgiven for wondering...wondering just what 'ungodly' transgression one might have committed to find oneself in this infernal trap, apparently with no exit.
Well...I wonder...I think Ill go and pray.
