Aground

02 June 2011
Day 2.

I went shopping this morning, got lost on the way back, ended up right at the North of the island, and had to walk back, by which time we had missed the tide to get out into Quiberon bay. Unpopular. And then we decided to accompany Auk back to her mooring in le Logeo for lunch, and went aground on the way in. None of us had worked out the rise of tide today, and so after putting out a kedge, we had a leisurely lunch of anchovy eggs and crudités with mayonnaise at 45º. We floated off after lunch, and I'm writing this on a lovely mooring in the Anse de Kerners, where we're waiting for the tide to take us out of Port Navalo and back to Crouesty for our welcome drinks. We're then planning to drive back here for the working boats BBQ, as they seem to be having much more fun than us yachties. The pick is not of us aground, but H23, a lovely boat, which had to spend most of the tide like this. It's easily done here, and you need to choose your spot, as getting stranded on a rock would not be amusing.
