Day Two

Day Two
Saturday promised light airs and brilliant sunshine, and we were supposed to race out to the Glenans, small rocky islands ten miles off the coast, for a picnic lunch. But the course was changed and we went to the Moutons instead, slightly nearer the coast. Again the sight of the fleet anchored under the old lighthouse was delightful, but being slower than most of the fleet meant we didn't have much time to construct the prawn sandwiches.
We were second over the line for the afternoon race, but soon outtacked by the big boys. Trailing the fleet, and with the wind dying, we decided to call it a day in order to put on our party frocks for the evening's crew dinner, which was a boisterous affair in a marquee in the carpark. When that finished, the party continued on the pontoon, and bonhomie abounded.
