2013 starts here

16 April 2013
This is how she must have looked when she was launched - no guard rails, liferaft or deck clutter. The boom is off as we've got a new loose-footed main.
We took the varnish back to bare wood, took the engine out for a rebuild, new prop shaft, new prop, and new instruments from TackTick, fine except the wind instrument is flaky and intermittent, but I suppose that's appropriate.

She was in Ramsgate last night, after an easy estuary crossing with much less wind than forecast. You must never say: "We're going to X..." you must always say: "We're heading towards..." the next stop.

But obviously the Morbihan is the ultimate aim - another 600 miles straight into the wind. You'd think we'd know better, but it is so lovely there that it's worth the struggle. Onwards and windwards
