Ile d'Arz

The first day of the Semaine is a paella party on this lovely island. There are hundred of dinghies and gigs pulled up on the beach, with several of the flotillas anchored in the bay. It's an incredible sight, and a beautiful spring day with the new greens of the trees providing a subtly coloured background. We meet a friend whose beautiful yacht was dropped onto its cradle by the crane driver, causing substantial damage. He was planning to sail round Ireland this summer, but is sanguine, although it must be heartbreaking for him.
