Semaine days 2

19 May 2013
Semaine days 2.

We went up the Auray river on the tide to try to get to St. Goustan, but that meant passing under a 14m bridge with Marcita's 14m air draught. We reversed slowly up to it against the tide, asking people on the bank if we would make it. Unsurprisingly, they preferred to say no, rather than be responsible for us hitting it, so we decided against it. The harbourmaster's launch, asking us if we wanted to stay the night, pointed pointedly at the height guage in the water, showing 16m. We still didn't fancy it. The picture is of a working boat that passed us, just one of the many like her, who make the week so enthralling.
