Mar de Luz is a Spencer 42 sloop (Hull #10), designed by Naval Architect, John Brandlmayr, and built by Spencer Yachts, Ltd., in Vancouver, BC, Canada in 1966. That makes her, as of this writing, nearly 50 years old!! She features a cut-away forefoot full keel, a thick, hand-laid fiberglass hull, a [...]
deck-stepped mast, twin fore and back stays, a Yanmar 4JHE diesel auxiliary motor, and all manner of cruising equipment--Aries wind vane, CPT autopilot, ICOM M-710 SSB, Spectra water maker, and a host of other items. She is a very sea worthy, blue water vessel that is fine with heavy weather or light airs. I have single-handed her for most of my 10,000+ sea miles over the last few seasons.
