Directions to Our Party

19 September 2008 | Dunphy Park, Sausalito
Eric/Sunny
Please come wish us fair winds and following seas on Saturday, September 20 from 12:00-4:00 in Dunphy Park in Sausalito. Wear your best nautical attire (and if you don't have any, come as you are).

Sausalito is a lovely little town for strolling, with touristy shops, good food and ice cream. Near the park is a cute little beach for your kids to make sandcastles. There is also a nice little deli nearby (Sausalito Gourmet Delicatessen, 209 Caledonia St., Sausalito), where really good sandwiches and salads can be had, and Taste of Rome (formerly Caffe Trieste, at 1000 Bridgeway, Sausalito) has tasty lunch items as well. We will have some snacks, and juice, beer and wine, but please bring food and drink if you want to have lunch at the park.

Our boat isn't big enough for the whole party, but we'll be giving people tours??"it's only five minutes' walk away.

Here's how to get to Dunphy Park:

The best way: Take a Golden Gate ferry from San Francisco. It
departs from the Ferry Building, and here's the schedule:

http://goldengateferry.org/schedules/Sausalito.php

From the ferry terminal in Sausalito it's a ten-minute stroll to Dunphy Park. Take a right when you get off the ferry and follow Bridgeway, the main street, until you get to Dunphy Park on the right side. When you see the bike shop on the left, you're very nearly there.

If you're driving from the south, cross the Golden Gate Bridge and get off at the first real exit (just past the Vista Point), called Alexander Ave. Follow Alexander Ave. two and a half miles to downtown Sausalito. Keep going past the Bank of America and Taste of Rome (formerly Caffe Trieste), and you will see a park on the right. This is Dunphy Park. Park and find us near the Bocce court at the east end.

If you're driving from the north, take Hwy 101 south to the Marin City/Sausalito exit. Turn left at the light, drive under the freeway overpass, and then turn right onto Bridgeway. Follow Bridgeway 1.3 miles until you see Dunphy Park on the left. Park and find us near the Bocce court at the east end.

We look forward to seeing you there!
