On arriving home from work Rachel suggested “Why don’t we go out for an evening sail?” Never being one to need persuading to get out on the boat I readily agreed. Only when we were half way to the boat did she further enquire what the weather forecast was. ”It’s due to rain later but we should be OK for a while.” We quickly got under way and cleared out of the marina, under the bridge and out into the bay to put the sails up with the reef placed on our last trip still in place. We tacked up towards the islands as the rain began, gentle at first but growing in intensity as time went on. With the boys tucked up below playing on their DS’s we decided to take in the sails and head for home with hot chocolates in hand. Whilst some would think this rather short outing to be a “failure” it proved to us that we could get out after work for some fresh air and we enjoyed it in a damp way.
